Maybe it’s just me but the constant reminder that our economy stinks is beginning to wear on me. Turn on the television or radio and you just can’t escape the depressing news. Anymore, after I watch five minutes of the news, I can’t help but think to myself that I should really start watching The Disney Channel.

All the news, all the talk, just seems like a lot of noise anymore and this noise doesn’t seem to be helping anybody.

So with that, I am revolting against adding more noise into the stratosphere. Instead, I have resolved to silence the noise, if only momentarily, with pictures showing the other side of our economy, the positive local side. The happenings in many of Michigan’s downtowns are a bright spot in our economy that are all too often overlooked. GREAT things are happening all around us if we choose to see them.

Here are some recent improvements made to buildings in Michigan Main Street Communities. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words...

Thank you Kelly! I agree, we need much more positive talk in Michigan and these are absolutely beautiful examples that positive things are still happening! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Kelly! It's a great reminder and it's fun to see those pictures! Sadly, we lose track of the successes we have already had sometime in the midst of striving for more.... we're working harder at Celebrating those and being more positive as well!
